Round Robin or "RR".
If you do not know yet what we are talking about, then take a little time
to read, I am sure you will not be able to sign once you have understood the
spirit of this entertaining initiative. To those of you who already know how
it works, I suggest to have a look underneath to some RR I am proud to host,
especially the “famous” RR of Viceversa forum, organized by Marinella
on her website www.mingiustitch.com,
which is one of the greatest projects started so far: it counts 16 members.
RR is a team stitching
or, better said, a fabric that each member sends to another one who will add
her stitch.
Each member prepares her fabric of the desired measure, borders it and divides
it in as many spaces as members with string in back stitch. Spaces do not
need to be equals, you can decide to make different sized squares according
to what you want your fabirc to become once it is stitched.
The kind of fabric is chosen by the group during the planning of the RR,usually
they suggest that beginners should use aida, but it is not forbidden to start
with project on linen.
When the starting date
is scheduled, each member stitches apattern representing the theme she has
chosen. The stitch must be finished within the date scheduled for the first
shipping. Once you have finished your piece, you will ship your fabric to
the person whose name is immediately after yours in the list.
The person who comes before you in the list will send you her fabric where
you have to stitch a pattern representing the theme your companion of RR has
chosen . Once you have made your stitch you’ll have to ship it to the
person who comes after you in the list until each member will get her fabric
back with all stitches made by all her companions. Cute, isn’t it?
Each shipping of parcels will have to be accompanied by an e-mail to each
component of the group, so that everyone can follow tracks of her fabric and
know how it goes on and where it is.
